How this site makes money
Stated plainly, because you should not have to guess.
Affiliate links
Most links from this site to a shop are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays me a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same either way — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.
That commission is what funds the site. It pays for the products I buy to test, and it is the reason I can turn down products I do not rate.
What a commission does not buy
- It does not buy a recommendation. Retailers have no say in what appears here, and several of the products I have tested are listed publicly as not worth buying.
- It does not change the price you pay, and it does not change which merchant I send you to. Where two shops have the same deal, I link the one with the better returns policy.
Sponsorships
Some videos are sponsored. When that is the case it is said out loud in the video and written on the page. A sponsorship pays for the video being made; it never buys a positive verdict, and a sponsored product can still end up in the rejected pile.
Prices
Prices change constantly and some merchants — Amazon in particular — require that pricing be read at the shop rather than stored here. Where you see a price on this site it was correct when the deal was posted. Always confirm the current figure at the merchant before you buy.
Rafie: replace this in Site settings → Legal pages. Have a lawyer look at it before launch if you are running paid sponsorships.
